For Term 2 students will be practicing spelling using the Words Their Way program. 

Students are split into two groups and will complete different sorts each week.

Monday - Introduction to the Sort - learn word meanings, overview of rules and patterns

Tuesday - Practice the Sort: Students sort words according to spelling patterns.

Wednesday - Blind Partner Sort: One student says a word aloud without showing it.  His or her partner writes the word in the correct category.

Thursday - Find words in Context: Students look through familiar reading materials for words that follow the same spelling patterns.

Friday - Weekly Assessment: Students will be quizzed on 10 - 15 words.
